Manuel Rico

Journalist, Madrid

Manuel Rico is IE's correspondent in Spain. Journalist since 1990, Rico has worked among other media in El Mundo, Interviú, Tiempo and Público. He was co-founder and first editor in chief from infoLibre, a Spanish online newspaper. Rico is also a lawyer, interested in transparency issues, and has a master’s degree in Communication from the University of Missouri-Columbia (1999), where he studied thanks to a Fulbright scholarship. Author of ‘¡Vergüenza! El escándalo de las residencias’, a book that explains how large multinationals made a business of elderly care.
